We are in our retirement years, raised four children and are the grandparents of four, we own our own business, ready to travel, and have been married for 35 years. Our last 2 1/2 years of marriage has been tested with a fiery trial brought on by my husband's choices. A legal pornography problem hidden for many years drifted into the illegal type. My husband was caught, sheriff's pounded on our door along with Homeland Security.
Our lives broken, devastated and seemingly irreparable. But Jesus had other plans which meant no prison time, a hard probation period with much humiliation. Fortunately, my husband never shared anything, the outcome would have been much, much worse. Husband would have had his heart ripped out had the judge disallowed him seeing his grandchildren. That did not happen, we are blessed. But since we are still in the probational phase with many twists and turns, harsh treatment drenched with a total disregard for the offender, blanketed in shame, etc., I am unable to share details, at least for now.
Someday, if we are brave enough, we hope to share our story. Husband has not viewed any porn since December of 2014 because of this shock and awe event that came to his doorstep. Our pastor told us that he probably was so traumatized, it shock the behavior out of him. He has NO DESIRE. This has brought him into a deep relationship with Christ. One good thing is that he brought your video series to not only our church, but another church as well.
VERY GOOD SERIES. I hope more men will share the hideousness of CP, something they think they may be doing in secret, has the power to destroy their lives completely. They could lose everything. I don't think young people (with the easy access on their phones) understand, what sharing one image will do. Husband sees other young people in his court-mandated SO class who passed images to one another of teenage girls. The are just kids in their early twenties.
They are on a lifetime registration sex offender list for sharing ONE IMAGE. It is interesting to me that the government warns the public about the dangers of BUZZ DRIVING and how you would get a DUI that could ruin your life. Seems they should warn, especially young people, the dangers of sharing images on their phone and how that could ruin their lives. Jeremy, I love listening to you father's show as well. I found out about the video series from TruNews.
Thanks for listening. Received 10/29/2018 Thank you for your kindness; it means so much, thank you. He is doing well. We are in the last stages of this nightmare and our lawyer is attempting to have his record expunged. We’ve written and asked for a governor pardon from Governor Brown who is leaving office in January. We hear he looks at cases like ours with no prior criminal history and will sometimes offer a pardon which would mean my husband’s name would be remove from the sex offender list.
(Megan’s list) He prays every day that God will grant him this final miracle in this case but at the same time he believes that God’s way will be what is best for him. We’ve seen some wonderful miracles along the way, one is that he is not a published offender on the list so no one but law enforcement will see his name. That is huge since we are in business in Fresno and my husband has many, many clients. Has had this business for over 40 years.
With that said, my husband believes this is what it took to remove his desires for porn. He feels completely delivered from this and has not viewed anything (legal or otherwise) for four years. I guess you could say he had the literal HELL shaken out of him. He loves Jesus and his walk with God has totally transformed due to this trial. A side benefit for me is that my eyes were opened to the reality of sex trafficking in our country.
I had no idea this went on and that children were being abused this way. I thought this stuff only happened in third world countries. It wasn’t even on my register. My heart bleeds for these kids but I am hopeful now. The current DOJ is being very aggressive and rescuing these children and prosecuting their abusers. So far since Trump took office, 4000 sex traffickers have been arrested; at least this is what I read somewhere. I am not talking about just the low-hanging fruit, men who stumbled into child porn like my husband, but the people who are trafficking and abusing children and young women.
I believe Jeff Sessions is on the war path in this regard. My husband and I will eventually write his story, since I am an author of a book about redemption. At the time of our police raid, my book was about 50% complete. I was so traumatized, I could not write for six months. When I finally resumed my story, it changed. It was easier to write about my main character, a broken man with a drug addiction. Utter brokenness flooded into my own home and I had to face it.
That reality made its way into my story. My writing became a way to flesh out my feelings within my character’s lives. So a book will come, I hope, but not until he gets his miracle. Then we will write it, to help other men not to make the same horrendous mistake. Looking at this stuff will ruin your life; and trust me, the government is watching. You will never be the same if you are caught; as this type of thing marks you like a Scarlet Letter sewn into the fabric of your being.
