What a blessing it is to be able to say that what the enemy meant for evil, God clearly meant for good. I have to admit, 19 months ago, it would have been hard for me to see this as the final outcome. But God truly is a miracle worker and has blessed us with the marriage we never thought we would have! Beyond that, He has blessed us even more by using us to come along side those who are addicts and spouses of addicts. The depth of pain and suffering is sometimes beyond my comprehension.
The enemy is working fast and furiously to destroy men and marriages, and leave women and children as collateral damage. I feel humbled to be used by God to come along side women who are the in the thick of the battle for the lives of their husbands. Most recently I have come along side a woman whose husband is on house arrest for child pornography. They both are Christians and she attends our church – she would have never, ever thought this was going on – the pain and betrayal is so deep she feels she can barely survive.
The ripple effects are so far reaching - financially, career-wise and with their extend relationships . The shame has left her feeling isolated and alone, with no hope for her future. God has shown me that my place is to extend unconditional love, consistent prayers for both her and her husband, and to reach out to her daily so she knows someone is thinking of her and lifting her up in prayer. The power of a simple text message and scripture, a gentle loving hug, a safe place to cry is immeasurable - no questions, no solutions, no push to make decisions, just God’s love poured out through a willing vessel to someone in need.
This is what we were designed for by our dear Heavenly Father. I am humbled and amazed by the gift of this journey. I am so excited that Bryan is going to the Conference in CO – another miracle! Kayla – God has changed my husband from the inside out, from top to bottom, in every aspect of his life. It’s just so hard to explain and the examples could fill pages of an email! It would be a privilege to share our testimony in whatever way would support and further the work of KingdomWorks.
As for approval to use my name (first name and last initial please), and location – you have it. Bryan will need to give you his authorization separately. Thank you again Kayla for sharing your story as well and for reaching out! I’m so excited by what God is doing and the future He has planned for us! Look forward meeting you one day!
